One more question for anyone that can answer.
Which wire on the subwoofer plug coming from the amp is the positive signal; the green or brown? I need to know this because I'm wiring in a kicker hideaway powered sub instead of the one that comes with the kit.

Thanks for any help
I called Kicker and per their tech department the subwoofer signal is Green (+) and Brown (-).

I mounted under the driver side as you can see from my earlier post and pictures. Relatively easy to cut the bracket and bend the longer piece. I can give you more pics and info and I ran the 12v wire through the driver side. I ran the power from the batter, across the rear firewall (in flex tubing and mounted so it is not flimsy), then through the driver side grommet. I can take pics so you can see it looks like a factory harness across the top portion of the firewall.

Sounds good and recommend it.

I appreciate the info Hosier. I ended up putting the amp behind the glovebox and then extended the power wire and ran it through the grommet you are talking about on the driver's side. I also extended the ground wire and attached it to a bolt on the parking brake mount. I will be installing the kicker hideaway subwoofer tomorrow going off the info you just gave me about the sub signals. Thanks

Bringing this back from the dead...

I had a 2011 XLT with base audio (no 4.2" or 8" display) and had the kit (BL3Z-18088-G) installed for 6 months before I traded in the truck on a 2015 XLT (with 8" touchscreen, no nav). I of course removed it and stashed it in the original packaging with the intention of selling it. However, after see what is offered for the 2015s, I think I'd prefer to make my old kit work in my 2015 with some modifications.

Anyway, I did some mockup/research on this site/etc. and see that I now need the jumper harness that came from the DL3Z-18808-A kit for 2013-2014 with 4.2" or 8" touchscreen. And I see that Beau from Rogel Ford is no longer on good terms with Kicker, so I suspect I need to deal with Kicker directly to get a harness.

Therefore, my question is, do any of you with the 2013-2014 kit for the 4.2" or 8" touchscreen happen to have the part number off your jumper harness that connects the radio to the Kicker AMP/DSP Unit? The part number for the one from my original G kit is: BL3J14A411. Or...if you have any idea on how to get a harness (aside from begging with Kicker or buying connectors from Metra or another vendor and swapping out the wires (which I really don't want to do), I'm all ears.

Any help is greatly appreciated...thanks in advance.

I do not have a part number. Try calling Kicker, they may be able to sell you the harness.

Thanks Hosier. I'm going to give them a ring today...but I'm not hopeful that they'll be willing to help. I'll report back.

Just called and spoke to Anthony at Kicker. They do not sell the jumper harness separately...so it's either find one for sale used or sell the 6 month old kit I have and start from scratch. His recommendation was to sell it and buy the dedicated kit for the 2015. No thanks...not for the $$$ they're asking.

I've been having the same difficulties trying to find a harness to work with the new truck. My issues are compounded slightly as I am in Canada, and have to deal with kicker Canada instead of the head office. Regardless, I am proceeding in a different direction.
I really don't want to lose the floor space anyways, so I am abandoning the kicker plastic box and 200 Watt amplifier. The sub is capable of much more than 200 watts anyway. This is the sub from the box http://m.ebay.ca/itm/311687402514?_mwBanner=1
Should be good for 400 watts RMS (claimed.) I plan on mating it to a jl 500/1 v1 in a custom box behind the seat. I am very Leary about putting that kind of power behind that little kicker, so I have everything wired up on my bench for now for testing. So far it's holding up well. Shakes the snot out of the little plastic box though, it sounds horrible! But if I kneel on the box to take the resonance out, it smooths out pretty good. Need to get the box going, but have one free day this week, not sure if il start the box or install my level. Decisions decisions.

There are good premade boxes to be found online. Check out some of the other threads.

The Kicker SM subs, are very nice, and cheap(around 100.00)! I just put a 10" Comp RT 1ohm dvc, in my 16. Its mated to a 500w @ 2 ohm Alpine amp. Got it for 99.99 shipped, on Amazon.

Plays loud and clean, in a .50 ft sealed box, behind my rear Screw seat.
