2010 Premium Sound System - Factory Speaker Impedance?
Hey all it seems as though I have blown a factory speaker on my rig, so I am looking to replace all 4 speakers with Infinity Kappa 682.11cf units.
I am looking to keep the factory amp for now until I can go all out so I want to make sure I match the resistance of the speakers to the new ones.
So after hours of searching and looking through old posts here I am 90% sure the factory impedance is 2 Ohms which is good because it matches the resistance of the Kappas, However if it is 4 Ohms I should have probably ordered something else.
If anyone could clarify and put me at ease I would appreciate it, also if you have the Kappas on factory amp how does it sound?
Thanks!

Just looked at the oem speakers I took out of my truck and they are stamped 4 ohm on the magnet. I put in Polk Audio db571 all 4 doors and they sound great with no amp. They are 4 ohm also.

The manufacturer of the speakers has prob changed since 2010 I know the head unit and amp changed in 2011, so if yours are 13' it may be different.
The old post I found here said the doors on his 2010 were 2ohm and the sub was a dual channel with each channel feeding a 2ohm voice coil.
Gonna be pulling it apart monday going to go for it, hopefully having less resistance wont overheat the amp and burn it out.
Rnl, thanks for checking out your old ones though I have heard from some that the resistance wont matter much anyway so we will have to find out
EDIT: Just called tech line and the speakers are actually 2.6 Ohms and then when combined with wire resistance its a true 4 Ohm resistance to the amp so it sounds like it may not matter!
