Question questions on cassette player

hello fellow f150ists:

i just purchased a 97 f-150...this being my fourth f-series. I've also had a '79 f-150, '82 f-250, and a '91 f-150. anyway, i have a question if anybody has an answer. the cassette player in the stereo system will not take my tapes. i put them in and they keep popping out. yes, they're going in the proper way and yes, they are on the ready-to-play side. the owner's manual doesn't have any guides on troubleshooting, but maybe someone out there can give me an idea why it keeps popping out the tape.

thanks.

Sounds like the lever inside is broke. Try putting the tape in and holding it in with your finger. I think, it's time to convert over to a CD PLAYER or look to see if someone is trying to get rid one that will work for your year.
