Hello all,
I wish to extend my thanks, been reading this forum for a while now, and helped me come to the conclusion I had to order the truck I needed. I wanted more of a safety margin, and stay within limits if/when I buy a new/used 28 or 29 ft Fifth wheel. Finding a truck with a 7850 GVWR is harder than finding a unicorn. (Notice my F175 name? :-) )
A little bit pissed @ Ford that getting the HDPP package limits so many different things that I can order. I am trading my 2016 Mustang GT Premium in to get it. I will miss the heated and cooled seats. The only way to get them in a HDPP is with a lariat, and that means about 6K more in cash due to incentive structures and up charges.
But I did get the XLT with the HDPP (3.73 rear) and max tow, had to upgrade to sync 3 like the Mustang had. Got the Crew with long bed, twin moon roofs, 3.5, bench, extendable tow mirrors, spray in bed liner, power rear window, power drivers seat, yada yada.
Anyway! Pumped!
Welcome to the F-150 forum! Glad to have you join us.
Have any fun performance modifications planned for the truck?
LOL. an 8 year 125k mile warranty. I did see an easy override for the mirror spot lights to power at any time. Likely a fifth wheel hitch of some sort. I have a bottle of CQ Quartz to apply to the new paint. And a DIY clear bra.I have gotten pretty good at those. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-150-...YAAOSwLyhbUjCn Some weathertechs. yada yada.
Congrats man and don't worry about the heat/cooling seats. It's a truck, the smile it gives you while your doing what you need to do far exceeds those seats man.
my wife took my explorer but I got an awesome 2001 f150, I'm happier than a pig n mud.
PS - I haven't even thought about those heated seats till I read your post.

Welcome to the site!
When I was looking for my HDPP truck [specifically a 2018 SCrew 5.0L HDPP] I could only find 1 in the entire Midwest, a XL. Luckily it was at an Illinois dealer that was pretty close and my dealer in Wisconsin traded with them to get it for me. Even though it is a lowly XL, it is real nice. I also have to make due without heated seats, but the truck is everything I could hope for in my very first truck.
2500 lbs is perfect for me!
I optioned it a bit, hopefully the pano will get taken off the order, but I got just about everything else I could stick on there. Running boards, etc. If I come in at 2350, it will still be good. I wanna tow a light 27’ fifth. ( At least that is the current plan)

It will be very interesting to see what your payload will be with your well optioned XLT. I would think the panoramic roof would weight a lot. Hold on a second, you can get a panoramic roof with a HDPP?
