Default Newb from Texas

Hi everyone. Newbie here. I've had my 04 Heritage Auto V6 for about a year and love it. With only 52k miles on it now(had 25k last year when I bought it), it should last another 10 years or more! I plan on running it to 500k miles or more as long as it remains as reliable as it has been so far.

Btw, great forum and great iPhone app!

Adam

Thanks for the welcomes! And welcome 979. I hope you find the truck your looking for. When I was searching, I looked at the Ram, F150 and Silverado. And since the Silverados are worshiped by dealers in Texas (prices were ridiculously high), that option was crossed off right away. And so it came close between the Ram and F150 and I was considering an older Ram but the low mileage couldn't be beat.

Good luck in your search 979!

Welcome to the board.

I think you made a better choice going with the F150 over the ram.

What's worshiped in Texas are Cummins equipped Dodges. Most 24 valves (no matter of age) go for around $20K. Duramaxes go for around $15K. If your in the Austin area, look up Hi-Tech Body and Paint. The mechanic knows 4.2's better than any Ford dealer in the state. My 02 4.2 has proved to be the most unreliable and most expensive to fix engine on earth. Bought it for $5000 with 67K miles on it and by the time I had hit 105K miles had put $4000+ into the engine and clutch. Currently, it has 125K (3 years after I bought it) and has had a knocking engine for the past 20K miles. Personally I would've rather had anything but a Ford because the old Fix or Repair Daily saying has applied to every aspect of mine. Hope your 4.2's bring you years of reliable service and welcome to the site.
