And currently having issues with my F150 and could really use some help/ guidance in the right direction. I dont want to get rid of my truck. I guess I bought someone elses headache and didnt even see it coming .

I know Ill find some help here.

Thanks to you all in advance!

So heres the issue:

Its spewing coolant from the resivior tank and the coolant smells like theres fuel vapors in it. I changed the radiator, thermo, water pump, fan clutch, and did a coolant flush. No help on that. Then the darn temp gauge went from cold to warm to to hot back to warm. So im stumped. And to top it off, the old thermo in it was cut in a way to keep the flow continuous, I got rid of the old one.

And if the truck is idling or warming up, theres no issues. It only leaks after its been driven and stoped.

Any advice on the action needed and a price range?

If there is any local help willing to help, we can discuss that too.

If you post this in the maintenance section, you'll probably get more responses.

With temp gauge fluctuating like that , I would say you have an air pocket in the system . Basically it needs to burp . Start it up cold and take the cap off , after it is warm increase your rpms to about two grand and hold it there for a few . Should work out any air . Also check your hoses for collapsing . With the engine warm , cap on . Have someone rev the engine for you while you watch your upper and lower radiator hoses to see if they collapse .

Anyone think it's a bad head gasket?

Its possible bad head gasket . But in my experience with them they will start pushing water out as soon as the engine starts to warm . And stop shortly after shutting it off . Yours could be different , every once in awhile one will surprise you .
