n00b here...
Hi there. Just picked up a 97 F-150 this evening with the 4.2 v6. Gonna need a heart transplant and was wondering if I picked up a 4.2 out of a 2006 truck that if i swapped the intake mani's if it would work. Going to post this question in the engine forum as well...Thanks for any info!!

hell bro step it up a notch on the heart transplant on that 97 ford bump it to a 5.0L. 4.2L you might need to replace the brain box and some other essentials under the hood. In the end you will be happy with the results on that job. my question is what do you really want to do with this truck? do you want to soup it up and turn it into a muscle rig? or do you want to want to use it as a everyday truck?

for now its going to just be an every day truck. i actually found a motor out of an 02 econoline that i am going to pick up this week. i do have a few 302's sitting in my garage though so who knows maybe some day down the road it gets a swap
