The seal on the back of the transfer case started leaking after they replaced my leaf springs. I think the tech may have had the driveshaft unsupported when he dropped the rear and messed up the seal. New seal put in.

Nice truck.

New tires coming soon and build done. Other than small accessories. And shock replacement but no major lift

Added the Curt 31083 Front hitch. Now I can add accessory bike rack on front while pulling our Airstream or put the winch on front or back, or push the Airstream into the driveway from the front of the truck.

Cheers 2016Limited, welcome to the Forum and Congradts on the purchase of your beautiful 2016 Limited truck . You were not kidding at all when you mentioned "taking apart every car you've owned" and looks like you've done it again. Your tutorials are very clear, great pics, excellent details and all the part # for anyone to follow. Thanks!
As 2019 Limited owner, I was torn between the Raptor and Limited and given all my highway, urban driving, opted for the more obvious choice. I also purchased it so as not to have to make any mods as it already comes with all F-150 options possible (almost, I added the 2 bed side steps)
How did the Hill Descent come out for you? Have you tested it and are you happy with the mod and was it worth it?
-> Having been on steep NC mountains for weeks, I thought I'd be missing the Hill Descent Control but found a great alternative. By engaging 4L and Manual shift, driving up and down 9 to 11% grade on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, the truck maintains itself almost as if on cruise control, at anywhere from 2 to 10 mph very comfortably and without using the brakes at all.
-> I too made a few of my favorite FORScan changes - love them, work flawlessly.
A few quick comments:
- Instead of replacing my License Plate lights entirely, I found it much nicer to replace the bulbs with these 6000k Cool bulbs from Philips, which now compliment all LED lights to have the same cool color, as opposed to the yellow incandescent of the original plate bulbs. About $16 for a pair on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

- One of my preferred mods was installation BIlstein 5100's on all 4 corners. Although the front struts make for a stiffer ride, the payback is a more stable solid ride, especially on highway driving
- If you need any interior or exterior pics of the newer model and any of its features, PM me that I will get them to you

Hey All. I've been lurking for about 9 months or so as I've been researching the F150 trucks trying to figure out what to get. It's been a long road, switching around a lot on what I was looking at but due to crazy year end deals, I fell into a 2016 Limited in Magnetic Metalic. I notice there aren't a lot of Limited drivers on here. I guess they aren't the crowd that is interested in modding or customizing their trucks. That is not me. I can't help taking apart every car I've ever owned. When It warms up, I'll have the entire dash torn out of this truck to check it out and see what I can do back there.

I started this whole journey after renting an F250 to tow a small car to Yellowstone from Texas. My wife said "This is really nice. Maybe a truck is in our cards."
I don't need an F250 for every day towing, so we went to a local dealership to look at used F150s.
I figured out the 2015-2017 was the style I liked. I'm not super pumped about the 2018 grill.
I figured out that the 2017 had the 10 speed transmission that I really liked. I also figured out the Platinum had some amazing features like FX4, massage seats, hill descent, park assist, trailer brake control and on and on. I was also hunting for a long time for a black truck that I could black out.
I liked the 2015 Tuxedo Black metalic, but no 10 speed.
I drove a 2016 Platinum 2x4 that was still brand new but forgotten on a lot (It's almost 2018 at this time) but was uninspired.
I wanted that 10 speed transmission.

On New Years Eve day, my wife saw a 2016 Magnetic Metalic Limited and said she liked the 2 tone Mojave interior. It looked good, but no 10 speed. We were bored from sitting around so went to check it out.
There is something about the two tone stiching on the dash, the special limited gauges, and those two tone seats that are really nice. This truck also already had a LineX bedliner and super dark tint added to the rear. The dealer agreed to a rediculously low price as it was the last day of 2017 and at 11:30 we walked out with this Limited.

I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm not finding that I'm missing the 10 speed trans. Limiteds are pretty fully optioned, but because they aren't officially "FX4" and don't have a sticker for FX4 on the side, you don't get hill descent. I'll be adding that using THIS THREAD.

I've ordered my $15 hill descent, lane departure combo switch (part number FL3Z-13D730-HA) and have been reading up on FORscan to do the switch out myself. Max Trailer Tow is also not an option, but I just read this great thread about the differences in the tow hitches and I think I'll survive without it.

Plans are for a leveling kit and some FORscan mods for now. All that to say, I'm thankful for the F150forum, for the quesitons you all have been able to answer in my research for a new truck, and happy to be a new member. My last F150 was a 1983. That I drove up through 1993. That was a great truck. I'm happy to be back in an F150.

Photos are
1 - exterior of my truck
2- interior photo I found on the internet. I haven't shot my truck yet because it's super freakin' cold! This shot is identical to what I have though and is now my desktop screen saver!
