Hello all. I came across this site while looking for info on my truck. Although I have it figured out now I thought I could help out others and maybe get help should the need arise. I never considered myself just a Ford guy, I like the big three, but I use a F150 for work and really beat the crap out of it and that sucker just keeps on going. It's always got me home, even though sometimes with a severe limp. It's a 1987 F150 with the 4.9 I6 and absolutely NO options. I recently swapped out my 4th TOD 4 speed in favor of the m5od 5 speed. I hear there are better options, but it only cost me $40 for the tranny at the local salvage yard. If anyone is considering this swap, I'd be happy to fill you in on what was involved.
