Default Hi from Ks.

Signed up cause I'm in the market for a used truck. Getting rid of the F-350 diesel and back into an F-150.

Trying to wrap my head around all the years and engines affected by the spark plug problems so I make a good decision for my uses.

Any special forum here where I should ask about the 2v vs 3v 4.6 and 5.4 and one piece vs two piece plug and which year? From my initial searches for trucks it looks like I'll be in the price range from 2010 and older. Mostly older.

Ideal would be SC XL w/ 8 ft. box 4X4. but... Must have 4WD and under 100k. Really want SC or screw, longer box than 5.5', and under 80k. Settle for reg. cab w/ 8 ft. bed 4X4 and put a topper on it with lower miles.

Looking is fun and I'm learning. Raised in a Ford family, can't imagine there being any other brand in my driveway. Think I will like the forum.

Your best bet for a reasonably priced truck w/o spark plug headaches is a 08-10 5.4 3v. They stopped using the 2 piece plugs in Nov 2007, all trucks after that use better plugs and the heads are a bit different. The old 2v trucks are great, but nicer ones are hard to find and they are all over 10 years old
