Hi everyone
Just wanted to say hi, finally joined, been lurking on and off for a while. I've seen some great trucks on here, my daily driver is a 2009 f-150 STX scab 2wd, all aftermarket audio/video, 20"xd801 wheels with 275/55/20 nitto terra grapplers, billet grill inserts and led tails smoked, truck is sterling grey. My first truck that I have back is a project 1979 f100 custom that's sat for about 13 years now, not exactly road ready but hopefully I can get it at least running this weekend, my grandad bought it new in '79 so it's a family heirloom I guess you could say. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
As soon I can ill try and get some pics up, this weekend hasn't been real good for some things due to grandmother passing, but I've been working on the '79 a little just to keep busy and my mind off everything
Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your lost. I love the '79s got one of my own

Thanks, my grandmother was like a second mom to me but the family is doing well considering, she was suffering the last few years so we just look at as she's no longer suffering and is with granddad once again. Now, on a happier note, I got my '79 started again today for the first time in about 3 years, before that it had been almost 10 years of sitting, and when it was started in 2009 it was only for a real short time, never really driven, just moved around a couple of times then carb issues showed up and it was left alone, but now that it's mine once again, she's running as of today and within the next 2 years will be mechanically road ready and a daily driver if needed. now, on to the pics, first is my '09

I no longer use these lights, poor light output but the grill and wheels/tires aint going anywhere...lol. This pic was actually taken on pit road at talladega super speedway, right before we hit the track for "highway" speed run for a couple of laps, the gps showed 113 top speed after that run, but I was forced by the guy in front of me to get on the brakes coming out of turn 4 and I was still pulling so who knows what the top speed is, oh yeah 4.6 tuned...lol.
the '79, or as my dad calls her, "the gray beast"
paint prep here in 2009

first wash after paint, cheap paint and not so good job but it's 1 color and protected from further surface rust

Thanks, the '79 has a long way to go to be a driver again but it'll get there one day, in just going to take my time, hopefully...lol, and get it right the first time, but I know me and I'll want to drive her again soon, haven't driven her in 14 years probably.
