Hello, due to the expansion of our family(3 kids) I decided to trade in my low mile 04 Lightning about 3 weeks ago on a new 2018 XLT F150 4x4. My 6 year old daughter loved the Lightning but could get a new truck if it was the same color. So I found a Race Red, black interior Supercrew in Atlanta. I took advantage of the rebates, was given a generous offer on my Lightning and came home with a new truck. My daughter is very happy with the color and the new truck. So am I, and my two boys love the extra room. The 3.5 Ecoboost is impressive. It has more low end torque than my Lightning and pulls almost as hard all the way through the curve. No buyers remorse here. Anyway, look forward getting to know the forum. I've been a member on a few Mustang forums for about 20 years and have always enjoyed learning something new or helping guys out.
Last picture I took of it. Owned it for 10 years and had 33k miles on it
Welcome to the F-150 forum! Glad to have you join us.
Have any fun performance modifications planned for the truck?
Probably but it will be on down the road. I usually wait till I pay the vehicle off before I start fooling with the engine/drive line. The Lightning was modded pretty heavy, Whipple 2.3, full exhaust, it was about at the max the factory rods could handle. I kept all the stock parts and put it all back on when I realized I was gonna have to get rid of it. I also have to two Mustang Cobras, one is a 98 and the other is a 03. Both have forced induction on them too so I'm no stranger to boost. That's probably why I'm really comfortable with the Ecoboost.
