Hello from NC
Hello everyone, Happy Thanksgiving!
Not new to Ford products, my wife and I had a 1985 Escort we bought new in 1985, I also owned a 1987 Ranger 2.9L and a 1991 Ranger 4.0L, a 2003 Mazda Tribute and a 2005 V6 Mustang. We've always had great luck with Ford products. I've been looking for a used truck as a second vehicle, finally bought one from a coworker. 1993 F150 XLT 4 x 4, 5.8L motor, auto transmission. No oil leaks, still has the R12 air conditioning which works but needs freon (I have a can of R12 still new) The paint was peeling and all of the side molding and badging was missing. I prepped it and had Maaco paint it. The exhaust is rusted and needs to be replaced. I will probably go with a custom 2-1/4" dual exhaust with Flowmaster Super 44's. I actually had an active recall on a speed control switch so I had it at Parkway Ford dealership here in town. They fixed that no problem and they performed a multipoint inspection and said everything looks good except for the ABS brake light. So far I paid $1200 for the truck plus the $650 for the paint job. It came with an UWS like new aluminum tool box (69" across which is a little too small IMHO, it doesn't cover the stake holes on each side) Spec-D 3" step bars and KC fog lights which were never installed. I thought it was a great deal.
