Hello All. New to F150
Hello everyone, I am new to F150’s But have had a couple F350’s in my lifetime. Just sold my 2002 F350 7.3 PSD Dually 4x4 and am looking to replace it with a 2018 F150. I have heard good things about the 2.7 eco boost as well as the 5.0. Heard mix reviews on the 3.5 eco boost. I am looking for the crew cub with short bed 4X4 don’t really care if it is STX trim really don’t need the Lariat trim. I have a PJ dump trailer that weighs 4,250lbs empty and pull a New holland TC45DA tractor 2 times a year about 150 miles round trip @ 10,500lbs. Otherwise most towing would be under 7,000lbs and only a few times a year locally. I’m wondering if the 2.7 eco boost with the 9.75 rear axle and 3.73 gears could handle the towing? Or should I be looking for a different configuration. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks,
Steve
David,
I see you have the 3.5, I am all for that engine just heard about leak issues. But I am not ruling it out as it is the best towing option even though I will only be towing less than 10 times a year.
Thanks
Steve
