Default Hello

I like to say Hello everyone. I will start off with, I don't own a F150 but I do plan on getting within the next month if everything goes good. I was approved for one yesterday. I will be trading in my 2006 Dodge Dakota. Too many problems with it. I'll be picking up a 2009 F150 XLT 4x4 with a 5.4L. The XLT already has what I want in a truck, my options are few.

Welcome!
You just confirmed the reason we bought our used Ford truck....hubby loved the look of the Dodge Ram, but so many people told us they have a ton of issues!

You'll like the XLT. About the only tech I have on mine is the SYNC. Took me a while to figure it out, but it is nice being able to talk and drive without holding a phone to my ear...I refuse to do that because I fu**ing hate other people that do it.

I took the truck for a test drive today, and loved every bit of it. As for the one member saying the Dakota is a POS. Yes they are. I've had nothing but problems. I had to get my transmission replaced @ 19500 km's. I have the 3.7 V6, and that thing is gutless. I have 4 bangers and what not, beat me. It has no get up and go. But yeah, i'm really excited about this truck.

Well looks like i'll be waiting about 3 months. I was going to pick the truck up on Sat, but before signing the papers, wanted to make sure it's what I wanted. Looked and noticed that it didn't have the 3.73 limited slip. They tried to find one. They did, but they either had more options then I wanted. I can picky. But it's gotta be what I want. So they said sometime between Nov 27 and Dec 5 or 6, i'll have my truck. Until then I gotta put up with my truck. It will also be a 2010, not a 2009. I'll be getting the same price on 2010 that were going to give me on the 2009.

Welcome to the board.

I used to own a 96 Dakota with the 3.9v6 with auto transmission. It never let me down, in any significant way, and the 3.9 had plenty of power. I towed a 3,000lb travel trailer and had no problems with it handling the weight. I do agree that, by and large, Dodges are pos, but there are some exceptions to every rule.
