First EVER Ford
Hello members,
Bought my first ever Ford vehicle today, the F150 XLT 302A and Sport Package Supercrew with 2.7l Ecoboost!
I made a poor decision three years ago to lease a JGC OVERLAND DIESEL; it just didn't cut it in terms of room (family of Four plus a dog) and gave me quite a few problems (cat convert or for emissions, stabilizer bar replacement, head gasket leak, etc.). Plus I was fed up with the dealership (went in for what I thought was a couple of filter change outs that should have run me $200, instead ran me $1200 after I was told I was do for all this extra maintenance at the 40k mark...man was I pissed; that was the last straw)!
My only other truck was a 2006 Tacoma double cab; loved that rig! Treated me well. Would have went back to Toyota but thought I would give Ford a go; could beat the incentives they have on now...Toyota does very little in that department.
i got sucked into the paint protection....and I know what most of you might be thinking...sucker! I guess there was little I could do about it since they already had the paperwork done. Regardless, hopefully the Xzilon protection holds up for a while and I will make sure I go down to the dealership to watch them apply it just to make certain it's actually going on.
One of the first mods I want to make is changing the headlights to th Onzo I think with the LED ORANGE AND WHITE PERIMETER LIGHTING just like on the Lariats and above (those headlights are wicked); from watching the video, looks like I should be able to do it myself...they say 15min aside...I'm sure I will be at least an hour. Could someone confirm that those will work on the XLT?
Anyways, this is my first post and quick intro; looking forward to searching through the forums for some good insights.

Congratulations on the new trucks, both of you.
As for the lighting, you can't see it while driving. I would leave it stock and spend your $$$ on things to do at your destination...but that's just me.

i couldn't believe the different confide you can get on all of the F150's....it was a bit confusing at the start when I was trying to figure out my needs and wants.
Welcome to the forum and to the Ford family. I come from a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep family, and I was the first to venture out. I've loved Ford ever sense I made the switch. Congrats on the purchase!
Here's hoping there are no issues for many years to come....other than trying to fit it in the garage
!
