Default Entering the room for the first time . . .

Greetings one and all. I've just joined the forum and am glad to be here. I found the site through a web search today. I'm a retired Navy helicopter pilot living in the Pacific Northwest north of Seattle. I've had a Ranger XLT since high school (currently driving only the third the series). As we've recently purchased a camper trailer, we are considering a SuperCab 150 to take the work from our Explorer. I look forward to 'meeting' many of you.

Thanx. It's good to be here. From what I've found already, there is a great deal of good information to be found. I'm expecting to go for, at least, an XLT with max tow package, 5.4 and towing mirrors. The 'desired' list goes up from there. Of course, I'll be looking for all the gouge on how/where to get the best deal on all of it.

I'll admit I've got one seemingly simple question to which I've not found the answer but hope to soon. It's probably an obvious thing but, well, here it goes . . . what's the difference between "Fx4" and "4X4"? I would think they're the same thing - four-wheel drive - but am not so sure anymore.

First off... Welcome to the forum, sir.

Second... The FX4 has an LSD rear, skid plates under the fuel tank, oil pan and front diff. I believe there are some minor suspension differences as well (ie: stiffer shocks).

Thanx for the welcome from all.

I'll go find the thread on my question. Thanx, Lenn, for the quick review of part of the answer.
