Default Another Newbie Here

Hi all. Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I recently purchased an F150 and was SO impressed with this vehicle, from the ride comfort to the apparent quality of the build, and especially the tow assist features. Owned it for one week and issues started to occur that I will be posting about after I pick it up from the dealer's service dept. I still love this American made beast, I just hope the build quality turns out to be as good as my old Tacoma, which I had some issues with as well though not from the start.

So a little about me, only because this is an introduction thread... Recently retired after 45 years of working in various critical care hospital settings, from the ER to adult ICU to neonatal & pediatric ICU, and Pulmonary Function Testing as well. For 10 of the 45 years I worked in education and for 7 years I worked in management, then I wised up and went back to the clinical patient care setting for the remaining 21 years. So glad I did that because to me, helping PEOPLE is what life is all about. And that's one of the reasons I bought my F150, so that I can help others moving, hauling, or whatever. Also a towable RV trailer is a possible purchase next year, which is another reason I chose this vehicle.

I also own a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 and I've gotten some priceless help with repairs and mods on the 750 forum over the many years. People are so willing to lend their expertise and share their experiences on forums like these. I hope I can contribute much as well as gain from membership here. Nice to meet you all and I look forward to reading and posting here.

Thanks for the welcome wishes. I'll post pics of my truck once I get it back from the dealer. They're trying to find where an electrical short is coming from that's causing a "drivetrain fault". The truck came with the mobil office package, an option I didn't care for but it was already installed. Seems a short is intermittently preventing the transmission shifter from going down, and then when it did go down it wouldn't come back up, meaning I couldn't move the truck. Fortunately, it came up the next day and I drove it to the dealer. The truck is brand new and now it's been in the shop for over a week. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Anyone else have this issue with the shifter?

Sorry for the delay in getting back. Dealer had my truck for 11 days and then I went out of town for a few weeks to visit my daughter in Virginia. They replaced the shifter arm but still had the same problem, wouldn't come up when down, or wouldn't go down when up. Turns out it was a relay module that told the motor to accept the signal from the switch that controlled the shifter arm position. The module was good but it needed to be told to accept the signal. The dealer had to wait for the Ford technology guy to get back with them to troubleshoot this issue. Now, all is good and no more issues. Awesome truck, already used to transport bicycles and mulch and a 28 gallon gas tank on wheels that I fill with ethanol free gas for my motorcycle and lawn equipment. Now I'm looking for a roll-up tonneau cover, so if anyone has some thoughts on this, I'd love to hear from you.

As requested, here's some pics of my new ride...
