Well it is, quite frankly, easy. It wont start. Absolutely nothing. When I hop in and turn on the key and depress the clutch, it is like I dont have a battery in (which I do, brand new battery, starter, spark plug, wires, and the solenoid is testing good). It doesnt make a sound. Now I know the electrics are good because when I installed the new battery all of my lights turned on. Any thoughts?

Test for power AT the starter and work back to the ignition , obviously your not getting power TO the starter.

That was kind of my thinking however I wasnt entirely sure on how to do that. I do have a question as well for those in the know, did 1979 F150s with manual 4 speed transmissions have neutral safety switches?

I had a 77' with a 4 speed , don't recall having to push the clutch in to start , so I'm thinking no on the neutral safety.
All you need is a 12volt circuit tester , connect ground to - negative side of battery , turn on the key then test power from the positive side of the battery at each connection to the positive to the starter. This may not solve the problem but will help you isolate a bad connection etc. It's a place to start.
If you have power to the output side of the solenoid on the left fender that goes to the starter... it may be your stater is kaput.

I just took the starter to Autozone where I purchased it and sure enough it tested just fine. So, at this point the solenoid is good, the battery is good, the starter is good. I feel like i am running out of options. The tech at the store also does think there is a neutral safety switch and even went so far as to look up the part for my truck with my tranny, so I guess that would mean it does exist.
