Default Winter detail

I'm getting ready to detail the exterior of my truck as soon as a few more things arrive via ups. I'm going to use Collinite 845 but not sure which step to use it. I'm going to wash, clay bar with Griots, wash, polish with Wolfgang. Now this is where I need some help. Should I put the Collinite on before or after I put on Pinnacle Souveran wax? All of this is by hand btw. I'm also going to use Griots metal polish on the tailpipe, bumpers, and rims. If you guys haven't used Griots Undercarriage Spray then you need to. This stuff is awesome. It really finishes a detail. Also using Griots engine bay kit to do the engine. I use Armour All Ultra shine on the tires after Westleys Bleche Wite. I. haven't found anything else for tire shine that I like that's not crazy expensive. Let me know the order how you guys suggest to wax. Thanks

I would use the Souveran wax after the Collinite. I am not sure what benefit it would really have though for a winter detail as there isn't much durability. Have you ever considered using a synthetic sealant after you polish before winter? I just used Blackfire for the first time. I am really pleased with it and it should last all winter.

I've always have put Collinite on last. If your other wax is more like a paste or solid then you will find that Collinite is like a buttery oil that is more like a sealant.

Their docs show it as a last step

I'm not an expert at car detail, but before or after will suffice I bet. With that said, Collinite is going to be your more durable and heavier duty wax so putting it on last makes more sense

All I'm doing is wash, clay bar, wash, Collinite 845- Done.

You could also try a panel each way and see for yourself. The worst thing that could happen is a panel gets another coat of something. :-)

What is claybar? How do you use it? What is the benefit?

It would go on last.

Everything by hand? WOW! That's a crap load of work. Good luck with that, I just fully detailed my truck yesterday which took about 8 hours with my Griots DA polisher and I was beat!

I almost purchased the Blackfire after reading the great reviews on it. I might try it next time. I think I'll put the Souveran on last. I was leaning that way but wasn't really sure. Thanks

I know it's really going to kill my already bad shoulder. I've done the truck before by hand but I didn't polish and put on an extra layer of wax. I need to really buy a polisher for sure. Is the polisher pretty safe and easy to use? I actually bought polish and wax pads that Velcro onto a handle for this job. I also got a pad for the clay bar that I'm going to try. I've got my work cut out for me no doubt.
