Default When to apply the first wax?

Yes I'm an old guy, and I remember years ago needing to wait a few months to wax a new car. I'm guessing that's not the case any longer, but I want to hear it from someone that knows before I'll feel safe. Does Ford still use enamel?
Some of Fords colors pop right from the factory. I ordered a Sterling Grey. I like the color, but I think it will need some help to get a good shine. Any suggestions? It is supposed to be arriving Monday, July 23. An F-150 4x2 Platinum EB, EL w/silver interier.
I've been reading the threads, but nothing about the first wax.
Thanks

You are 100% safe to wax your new truck the second it pulls up in your driveway.

Use a nice finishing wax (not a cleaner wax) and you should be good to go.
