Default PC Detail

I got a PC and some detailing supplies for Father's day and was able to finally break it out this weekend. I started Saturday morning and finally finished up about lunchtime Sunday. That includes doing the exterior and the interior as well. Here was my process (only Meguire's products were used);

Wash
Clayed the whole truck

HOOD
2 applications #80
1 application #9
1 application #21

REST OF TRUCK
1 application #80
1 application #21

Did all that on Saturday as well as doing the interior. On Sunday I got up and did;

1 application #26 & finished up with 1 application #34.

I would say that 99% of the waterspots and cob webbing that was present on the truck at the beginning was gone by the time I was complete. Also the PC made things so much easier on my body, didn't cut much time down, but as long as I keep up the cleaning and keep the paint in good shape I won't have to spend as much time in the future.

Here's how the truck came out.

The #'s are just different types of polishes and waxes, and yes its VERY confusing.

I personally get lost with the #'s too but the PC is a Porter Cable Polisher/Buffer.

Tide already hit on the PC, the #'s just represent different Meguires products I used. The #80 is a scratch and swirl remover, it's not real, real aggressive, but it's aggressive and helps get the waterspots and any cob webbing out of the paint. The #9 is also a scratch and swirl remover, just less aggresive than the #80. The #21 is a paint sealant, the #26 is a carnuba wax and the #34 is a final detailer. These products are just a little stronger/better than the products sold at Wally world or Autozone.

You can still get really good results though using products from Wally world or Autozone though. I really liked the Meguires 3 step system of a paint cleaner, paint sealant and carnuba wax. The biggest thing is paint preparation so make sure you do a really good wash job followed by a really good clay job. That will prepare the paint for the real detailing and make it shine once you are completed.

Try Eagle one Aerosal glass cleaner.

I've got it and it does a good job with no streaks.
