Newbie at detailing.
Hi everyone,
I bought my first truck the other day a silver 2004 ford f 150 ext cab, anyway I want to protect the exterior as the last owner took good care of it and I also want to keep it in shape. So basically where do I start, what products do I need and what steps should I have follow without going to overborad.

Well, I keep a detailing bag with all of my detailing supplies in it. Here are the items in the bag that I feel are completely necessary to keep a show-room finish:
Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover
Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax (Awesome car soap)
Meguiars Microfiber Wash Mit
(2) 5 Gallon Buckets (for 2 bucket wash method)
(2) Grit Guards (one for each bucket)
(2) Meguiars Waffle-Weave Microfiber drying towels
(2) Meguiars Clay Bars
Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer (Lubricant for the clay bars)
(5-10 Minimum) Meguiars Microfiber Towels
(2 Minimum) Meguiars Soft Foam Applicator Pads (or Dual-Action Polisher)
Meguiars No. 07 Show-Car Glaze
Meguiars No. 26 Yellow Tech Wax (Liquid, not paste)
Meguiars No. 20 Polymer Sealant
Meguiars No. 39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner (Remove wax from black trim)
Meguiars No. 40 Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner (Use on interior dash and trim, also kinda smells like new car)
Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer (Works on LCD screens, instrument panel, basically everything interior)
Autozone Glass Cleaner (seems to work pretty well)
As far as the steps, I adhere directly to the steps on the page below:
