Default First timer want's some advice!

So.... I have always just taken my vehicles threw carwashes and whatnot but with bigger tires and a level I really dont "fit in" to the average carwashes plus I wanted to finally do it right and get a nice full clean truck without random missed spots.

Please tell me what I need! Like... everything... literally I have nothing at the moment.

Over the counter products please (since I plan on cleaning her on Monday).

I think I read something about a "two bucket method" please elaborate?

Tips and tricks greatly appreciated!

My baby is dirty and needs cleaning up the right way! I'll be sure and follow the advice given and post pics after

(I have aftermarket wheels and tires so cleaners for those as well highly appreciated)

I use Meguires for almost all my vehicles. They have great products and have yet to have a problem. Mother's is another good brand, but like Meguires, sort of costly compared to others. You get what you pay for. Just choose a good reputable brand and go from there. Everyone has their own preferences.

Two bucket method: In addition to the bucket with your washing solution (I prefer Megs Gold Class) you use a second bucket of plain water to rinse out your mitt each time you get ready to put it back into the washing solution.

You'll likely be surprised at how much debris rinses out, stuff that you'd be grinding back into your finish if you hadn't rinsed!

Awesome, thank-you very much! I'll definitely be sure to have two buckets!

I would get yourself a good dual action polisher. If you are going to wax make sure you clay your car after wash and dry it. If there are swirls in the paint I would do, wash, clay, polish with dual action polisher, seal with sealant, and a coat of wax after sealant cures. That will not only clean your truck but protect it especially if you live with places with salt on the roads and I'm sure there's plenty in Alaska. Check out autogeek.net you can learn a lot there too. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. I detail on the side

Meguires Gold Class is the real bomb!!

Don't be afraid to spend money on a good wash mitt, it's worth it.
Wash from top down on the upper cab, then front to back. Dump the soap bucket b4 you do the bed and back.

Or you should just use the two bucket method

Did you notice lots of swirls in the paint while doing it?
