Do Clay Bar your truck?
#22
How long does one Mother's Clay Kit last? Also, do you clay the sides and roof and grill and tail as well as the hood? I think I would like to try the clay bar technique, if I could find a good video that addresses every detail from beginning to end. Is that video on the web or the forum?

work good too for maintenance. Would not use it for an initial cleaning though, only true clay bars work best for that, but If I want to do a quick once over, the sponge works really good.

Are you supposed to use the whole clay bar or break a piece off. I see that you are supposed to fold it over occasionally. How many vehicles are you supposed to be able to do?

You use the entire bar.it should be rather sticky and stick to your fingers. You do a small section, then fold the bar over onto itself, dirty side to dirty side, then reform the bar back to the shape it started at. The bar will last as long as you want depending on how dirty the vehicles are that are being cleaned. If there is a lot of tar being pulled, then they won't last as long as one that is just lightly dirty. You want to wash the paint as much as possible with something like Dawn to really get the wax and dirt and tar off before laying. Also, don't drop it, or you will have to toss it. I bought a two pack of Zaino clay bars and after 6 vehicles, still on the first bar.

Consider an iron-x or similar chemical decon particularly if your truck was or may have been shipped via rail.

If it was just off the truck and a week old, probably not, but wont hurt. If any older than that, sat on the lot a few weeks, then yes. Also +1 in the Iron x. Do the Iron X first then clay. I've used the Meguiars detail spray for a lube, works very good.
