Do Clay Bar your truck?

I just purchased a 2018 Lead Foot Regular cab F150. Not surprisingly, I also just became a member of this forum. Even though I am nearly 56 years old, this whole "clay bar" business in news to me. I'm not quite sure if this is something that is for serious car fanatics or this is just modern car care?
Thanks

I clay my vehicles once per year. It's a lot of work but nothing else removes the stuck on contaminates like clay.

I did my 1977 last year. It's original paint is like glass.

I haven’t done this to my 2018 yet, but have had amazing results with other vehicles. I’ll probably do the truck next spring.

I picked up my 2018 last Thursday. Went home and hit the whole truck with the clay bar, sealed, then waxed. I typically use the clay bar twice a year.

I clay my truck using Mother's Clay and do it twice per year. Think about it this way...if you were going to paint a wall and it had some dirt, stains, and dead bugs you would at least clean it off a bit before painting it right? Same thing with using a clay bar, and if you do it right it will not take too long and your waxing will go much faster and last longer.

I think it should be done twice a year but at least once every year. You always want a clean base to work with.

Made a huge difference on mine, after 5 years mine had all the little yellow spots from metal specs embedded in the paint. Clay bar took it all out and made it look brand new again.

Sure do. No more soft clay though.

I've done my 95 a couple of times now and it's really improved the paint finish. I've also done my brand new Subaru and it made a noticeable improvement in it too!
