Default Dirty wheels

Ive heard from a few people on this forum that the brakes on the '04 and up F150s produce a lot of dust. In the few weeks since Ive owned my new F150 Ive really noticed this problem.

So what does everyone use to clean their wheels? I was thinkin about getting one of those Mothers Buff ***** that you see on TV in the Chip Foose commercials. You know the ones that attach to a cordless drill. Do they work well? Anyone use anything that works better?

I use mothers crome polish on mine. When I run out of it I am going to go with the Mothers Buff ***** kit. I saw it at autozone. I have a friend that likes FW1, it is a waterless carwash, wax, glass cleaner, and rim cleaner. It is also supposed to help keep brake dust off your rims.

FW1? Is that the brand name? I went to a classic car show awhile back and saw a "waterless" car wash/wax stuff like that but I cant remember the name of the stuff... maybe that was it.

I believe that FW1 is the brand name. I found the product on line. It says that it is not available in stores. I have seen a company selling them outside of Shell stations in Houston. The price at the gas station was about half of the price online.

You guys can get a week or better without a lot of dust, well I do a lot of stop and go. Mine was real bad. I would have to clean my wheels every 3 to 4 days. I bought me a set of ceramic pads and I'm done with all that dust issue. Go to your NAPA and get a set of the medium grade ceramic pads. The Gold series are hard on the rotors and most likely will warp them. If you know how to do a break job do it, these are easy to do. It took me about 30mins each wheel including jacking it up each time. I took my time cleaning and greasing the slide plates and I even cleaned the inside of the wheels while they were off.

I don't know any body that uses the ceramic pads. Do they lasts as long a regular breakpads and do they have bout the same breaking time as regular pads.

Default ceramic pads

can you buy a better grade of rotor to compensate for the warping and excess wear?

Any warranty issues with the new pads? (I know the pads and rotors arent covered in most warranties, but what about the rest of the system?)
