Default Detailed

I was on a staycation this week so I thought I would work on cleaning my truck. First I did a rinseless wash with the two bucket system and Ultima rinseless wash. Worked great.

The next day I decided to go the next step and wax it as I have never waxed my truck yet. I actually went with Meguiars Ultimate Wax because of my spontaneous decision to wax the truck so I went to Advance Auto Parts to get some, otherwise I would have ordered some stuff like Colinite from Autogeek.

Turns out the the Meguiars Ultimate Wax is not a wax but a paint sealant with is so easy to apply and buff off. I got a Meguiars Clay Bar kit as well and clay bar'd the whole truck. Then I applied the Ultimate Wax. The great thing about the Ultimate Wax is it does not leave white residue on plastic if you touch it by mistake. It wipes right off.

The paint is so smooth and slick now. I love it....so smooth, I was going to Plastidip my rear Ford emblem bezel and the tape would not stick to the paint! lol

I also did all the trim with Meguiars Ultimate Black Sponges. I like that stuff so far too. Makes the trim look great!

I think I may be addicted to detailing, now. I find it really relaxing to turn the radio on and just work for hours on the truck.

Just today I got this from Autogeek... my next step....

It's looking good! If you really want to get addicted to detailing, try owning a black vehicle of any kind. I LOVE my truck but man that black paint sure is a PITA to keep clean. Detailing is a hobby of mine as well. It's the whole sense of pride in ownership and the job well done when you see people looking at themselves in your door instead of using a real mirror.

Looks great, really need to do mine. Bought all the stuff months ago and never got around to it.

My I suggest a few things? Remove the built plant sticker on the passenger side front windshield and remove lower airdam thingy.

Truck really looks great! Makes me want to do mine. What did you use on the tires?

The tires have some Black Magic Gel I had since last year. I plan on going with the TUF Shine later. I just bought $215 worth of stuff from Autogeek so I need to slow down. lol

I've been spending a lot of time on Autogeek watching vids and reading all the how-to's. I can't get enough.

You're hooked now, there's no turning back. haha

Be sure to join Autogeek's forum too, lots of great people and info over there. Both Z7What and myself are over on there.
