as long as you use some lube a little friction never hurt anything :P

My truck is only 2 months old, but I will be claybarring this weekend so I can wax it.

I wont wax a vehicle without clay baring it first. The wax goes on much smoother and buffs off 10x easier. Just use plenty of quick detailer.

I have used a few clays:
Meguiars smooth surface clay
Meguiars mild professional detailing clay
3M Perfect-It III cleaner clay

In my opinion, the 3M is far superior. Just make sure that you use a good shampoo to wash the truck and a good speed detailer to lubricate the clay.
http://www.autogeek.net is a great website for products. They also have a lot of "how to" instructions.
