Default Question for Admin?

Got a question for an admin/owner of this website about adding a new section... who do I need to speak to?

You should post it right here. All the staff will see it posted here.

Default Harley Davidson Forum/Section

Gotcha!

Admins - I would love a dedicated forum/section (like Ford Raptor Forum) for Harley Davidson and their years. The nhotc forum is old, out-dated, and not very active at all.

I also would love to be an admin for that section only so what are the requirements to become one? I have 3 Harley Davidson F150 trucks at the moment and my family have had at least 6 (including one of mine) in our lifetime so needless to say, we love HD trucks.

Heck, my Harley truck instagram is @theharleydude so that's that haha. Let me know if this is a possibility. I have thought about creating a brand new forum dedicated for Harley Davidson trucks, but it would be ANOTHER forum to be a member of so this would be BEST if we can make this work.

I asked in our HD F150 Facebook group and many members would love that.

Let me know. Feel free to PM me if you have additional questions.

Thank you!

Here's my '01 & '12 HD trucks. These are the "before" photos before I start working on them.

2001 (project) & 2012 Ford F150 HD trucks.

I’ll give you my thoughts on it but by no means is this set in stone or closed for discussion.

The Harley trucks are beautiful. There were not a huge number of them sold but those that were sold are generally kept MUCH nicer than their non-HD brethren of the era. I would set up a dedicated section or even sub-section specifically for them but for the most part, they’re not too much different from their “normal” F150 brothers aside from some polish. This goes especially for the non-supercharged versions. The Raptor comparison, while I understand it, isn’t really fair because the Raptor has a huge number of it that- without HUGE amounts of time and money, can not be put onto a normal F150.
The Lightning is also another model that doesn’t have its own section for similar reasons, but there were even less Lightnings sold so discussions about them specifically is very low.

We have lots of sections and subforums for discussion of things that are different from the section or subforum above and below it. I try to heavily weigh what sections I add because I don’t like clogging up the forum and spreading out discussion that could overlap too much.

Lenn,

Thank you for your response. I do see the reason for keeping this forum nice & clean and not get it too cluttered - I hate clutterness so I understand.

I understand that Raptor is a different animal because it is a different beast. While the Harley Davidson/Lightning trucks are not too entirely different than normal F150 trucks, they do have some differences such as body styling (exterior & interior), supercharged (on some years), minor suspension change, etc.

I would love to have a dedication section or a sub-forum for HDs. Maybe we can combine the both Harley Davidson & Lightning trucks as one and test to see if we get a lot of traffic in that section/sub-forum?

I am more than happy to run that forum and keep it nice & tidy. I certainly hope you and your admins would consider it and give it a test run.

Let me know if any of you have questions.

Thank you!
-Dalton

What if I were to make a dedicated subforum aside from any generation specific section for “special editions”. I can make the description inclusive to the Saleens, Lightnings, Roush’s, HD, Lightnings, etc. This way, it’s not confined to a specific model but it’s also not restricted to a specific year range either. Would that be more acceptable?

I am not opposed to that - I like it. We can start out with that.

Shelby being one of them too. The new Shelby trucks are insane.

@Lenn Hey Lenn, I just wanted to follow up on this. I still think this would be a great thing.

If you have any questions, I am happy to answer them.
