Default Private BS section..

Lately a few of us regulars like to BS with eachother. Were not bashing eachother in a bad way, just messing around killing time. And it can get out of control sometimes.

I'm on a fishing forum and they have a private section of the forum that you need permission from the ADMIN to get in. Your allowed to curse, post pictures, do whatever you want. And it's private for certain people so it's not viewable by new comers and public without permission.

Would this be possible? No need for moderating it. Since it would be only for people who have permission and we can post whatever, say whatever.. ect ect?

I know FX all 4 me, 1996 Redneck, Bobkyle2, and many others would join in.

Hahaha... We have the powah....

A "Hidden Lounge" is a feature on another forum I am on. Its cool but the issue that I have noticed is that the "established" members usually spend most of their time in there and not really contributing as much to the public forum as they used to. Not that all responsibility lies on our shoulders to keep the forum going, but the experienced knowledge-base is sometimes nowhere to be found to the newbie.

Well, I think it's time to make me a mod. Haha.

Lenn, that thread you posted about rules. I thought it was towards maybe the, "Say something about the person above" thread. So I took it as it's getting out of hand??

I wouldn't think it would take away from the public. It would just be a section for the ones who like the, "Say something about the person above" thread could BS and not worry about cursing or saying something offensive and people taking it to heart. If your in the "BS" section then you realize it's a place to BS and mess around...

Alot of us BS elsewhere, so it's not a big deal.

I also like that idea of posts in such areas and threads not counting towards your post count, because some people like to post ten times in a row in those threads, which does nothing at all for the site, haha.

Our goal is to keep the site as clean and family friendly as possible. Those hidden sections tend to promote the opposite.

I think it's a neat idea actually... I would be all for it, but I see what you're saying Nathan.

Would there be a way for only certain people to be able to get in it, like people with over 1000 posts?
