I got nothing

One of the biggest gripes I have with old threads is with the person who pulls up the old post.

They have been digging and researching -everything they wanted is right there, it's perfect, to them.

A post with 100 comments and the person says, so what is the best solution, the first one or the 2nd one. Nobody who visits the forum daily has a clue what the thread is about and the user didn't quote anybody so we're guessing. The person who asked the question is hoping the person that last logged in 4.5 years earlier will reply.

Sometimes it is worth it but considering the majority of readers have no context to the new question and/or the new question isn't a thought through question, it does get difficult.

I just move on and won't even considering tying to answer. Not if I have to read 100 posts to make sense of the question.
It isn't going to go away though and I've decided to ignore resurrected threads from this point forward. (except this one)

Seems exchanging civil ideas is a good thing. Conservatism can be a good thing and many times Liberal thoughts jump out, also they may be a good thing. I have nothing when it comes to what drives a thread or closes it. it just popped up on my search so I said what I thought ! Its like a good or bad book. you either read the thread from the first post thru it or don't and donate it to a resale shop ! I usually end the subscription to many dead end threads just so my screen is not full of needless pages of Trivia ! An obvious example are political threads & after some months of time they can return or / still remain useless information? Many times my multiple screens opened and me & my computers aren't in sync, my fault. Education of hard knocks !
