It was a "Quick Links" tab.

Now I understand your feedback and usage. That's going through the UserCP but with a more direct link.

I found having the line that starts with User CP a lot more convenient than where everything ended up. It was more conveniently accessible. Plus, where the login box was I just have a huge blank space so I am not seeing where you are saving any real estate to have content moved up.

Also miss that you can see that you have PMs and how many and get to PMs a lot more easier as well. In a lot of ways, it requires more clicks now to do the exact same thing.

The blank space you note is an ad banner that has always been there. You must have an extension that's blocking ads and/or altering the appearance of the site.

The removal of the vB nav bar moves content further up in view while removing duplicated links that was separated by an ad. Some links were not duplicated and thus required placing in a new spot that the team thought was most relevant.

Well, in my opinion, the site is now more clunky to use, requires more mouse clicks to do the same things and not as user friendly.

If you put the User CP and Private Messages on the same line as New Posts that would probably help a lot. It would alleviate the need for an extra click to get to those. At least for me it would bring it back to being a little more user friendly and closer to what it was. Also, you aren't moving the mouse all over the place to get to the most commonly used links.

Thumbs down

IB JT - The legacy vB nav bar has been removed. Many of the links within that nav bar are also in the global nav bar (below the title).

The reason for the change was 1) It moves the content that members want to read, further up and 2) Duplication, especially in such a short space, is generally not considered good.
...
Musta missed that change news/announcement.

Missing "mark forums read" to clear all forums. I've only found it in individual forums to only mark that forum read.

Click your ID on the upper right corner. A menu will pop down and that is where it lives now.

So, no more "UserCP" on the front page? That sorta suckles.
