We are super excited to launch a new way to enjoy the F150Forum community from your mobile devices!

It's still a very early beta but beginning today if you're logged in and visiting the Community from your mobile device, you can now choose a dark mode theme in addition to the standard 'bright' theme we've always had 😎

We are looking to you for feedback about the experience. Being that you are one of the very first communities we're trying this out on, we don't expect to have gotten it perfect so we appreciate any feedback you're able to provide.

We also recognize that some of you would like to see a dark mode on desktop, we do too! Our first goal is to perfect this mobile experience and our hope is to release dark mode for all browsers once the summer is over. Thank you all in advance for your understanding.

Please log in from your mobile, turn the dark mode on using the Hamburger menu and let us know your feedback with us!

Yes!!! Dark mode all the things!

 

Went to the hamburger menu and into settings. Didn't see an option to turn on dark mode on my mobile.

there is one here but not in the garage talk app.

 

Garage Talk app was discontinued some years ago but still functions.

To use Dark Mode, you will need to use your device's browser and then select Dark Mode. The Mobile Theme is browser-based and allows for quicker updates.

 

Ah that explains it. I am using the garage talk app.

 

Anyway you can adopt this for site wide and not just to mobile devices?

I use my iPad or PC far more to surf the site than I do my phone and even then I rarely look at the site unless thru the desktop mode as I am used to that layout.

Not offering dark mode to all of us feels like I am being cheated out of something here..

 

As noted in the announcement, we will be releasing a dark mode for desktop. In the meantime, we released dark mode for mobile (beta) and wanted to get feedback.

Regarding iPad, it's not a mobile browser. You can tap the AA text in the browser and request the mobile theme.

 

Turned it on and it works as expected. I am thinking the dark mode will lessen eye strain...maybe,maybe not...
anyhow it seems like a good addition
