I have been getting annoyed at this as well on my android. I downloaded a pop up blocker yesterday and so far so good.

 

This is something new on this site. A month ago all was fine - but now whenever I try to follow a thread I get a popup asking me if I really want to leave this page or "do you want to stay on this page". I haven't changed any of the security settings on my computer so this development is both puzzling and annoying. Can something be done to stop these silly pop-ups. And yes my pop-up blocker is on but these seem to be embedded in the page coding itself.

I'm having the same problem when I browse with my phone. I'm using a Note 4 on Verizon and I'm using the mobile site and not the app. It's not a lot but about every 4th or 5th thread I click on, I get the pop up. Mine is usually saying something about a virus detected and it won't let me out of it without hitting OK which I won't do because I'm sure that downloads something so I back out and force close my browser thru app settings. I finally switched to the default Galaxy browser because you can use AdBlock with it and that's stopped it.

 

I use Malware Bytes and Norton 360. They don't see it a threat and I think it's in the page coding - might even be a safety feature or a reminder in case someone hits the wrong key while following a thread???

 

I don't get the popups but what's up with all the Mazda and Chevy posts?

 

These ads still exist on iPhone.

 

To help us get a handle on specific ads, please post a screenshot or if you can, get a link for the ad. We have to track these disruptions individually.

 

FWIW, they seem to be gone now for me on my Note 4 using the mobile site on the stock browser.
