How do you disable the "check out what's new" popup? It's seems like almost every time I click on a thread to read it, that popup takes over the screen, and I can`t read anything else. Why doesn't the forum get rid of this annoying item?

You should only be seeing it once, unless you're actively blocking cookies or forcefully logging-out and clearing your cache every session.
