Why the lack of premium trims for RCSB trucks?

Ford had the Tremor and didnt want to go high volume with it, which saves them money but sucks for the consumer and probably helped drive those would-be customers over to Ram, so I think Ford probably lost out by that decision anyway. High trim Dodge RCSBs are more readily available to the public compared to fords offerings and that was where Ford went wrong imo, they should have done the FX package on 2011+ RCSB 5.0s, priced cheaper than the Tremors, with a higher volume than the Tremors. They would have sold every last one of them.

Remember, forum users aren't the general buying public, we're a very detail oriented subset of the buying public. Most buyers looking at RCSB trucks are in the market for a budget truck, and aren't looking at higher trim level.Ford has done extensive market research, and their offerings are aimed at the mass market, not forum posters.

I know, I know, money is more important...one small niche group of people leaving Ford for Dodge and GM doesnt mean anything to them in the long run, they make more money by doing what theyre doing (sad).
You have to take the base model interior and do alot of work to it, Katzkins and a Wheelskins cover, gauge cluster swap, vinyl wrap door panels (if 09-14), Navigation touchscreen, footwell LEDs. And oem full length center console if you really want to nail it.

I'd love to see a slightly better trim option with a RCSB as well. Basically something like the FX2/FX4 trims from the last generation.
Once the kids are grown I want to get something smaller but still nice, so my options will be getting a RCSB 1/2 ton and spending time and money to make it what I want, or get a Frontier/Tacoma/Ranger. I'll probably just go with the midsized, because the older I get the less time I want to spend working on vehicles.

I went with a fully loaded xlt. It had an msrp of 41k so the rcsb are not cheap. Sync 3 with nav, spot and puddle lights in the mirrors. Like most xlts, it had chrome bumpers. Had them painted along with the mirrors to make it look like he dealer made Lightning but in a higher trim.

I really think the tremor would of been a hit if it was offered with the 5.0 as a standard engine and the eco as an option alot more buyers would of been interested. It would be nice to hace a lariat option on a rcsb, i started of with a fully loaded xlt and by the time i was done it would of been way cheaper to of gotten a base xl since even xlt's come with that ugly gray interior and you literally have to change every panel to make it black. Takes time to do the swap but at the end of the day you end up with something unique no one else can buy.
