I remember my old 2001 Explorer Sport had the cruise control fire recall. I've seen something like this happen only twice in my life. Hope the driver and passengers got out ok.

The cruise control fires were started by a brake pressure switch either on the master cylinder or just below inline, never understood how that could start a fire but I changed them by the handful every day for at least 2 years.
