Why I carry a tire repair kit............

Just call me sean. Really
OP, glad to see you can handle yourself when things don't work out right!
You wouldn't happen to drive a 2010+ Mustang would you? I know those only come with a tire plug kit and no spare, so if I could fully understand if your first instinct was to go for that.

I wasn't trying to start anything. I just couldn't figure out why someone would go through the trouble of removing the wheel and then not use the spare. Trucks don't come with donuts, you can't use a donut with 2000 pounds in the back. I use plugs regularly but I don't remove the wheel to install them. If the wheel has to come off the spare goes on.

I don't want to drive around with a spare on. It would look completely out of place. The tire repair kit works excellently, and does just as good of job as the tire shop. Since I had the time, had the tire off, had all the supplies, why not fix it? Or I could drive around with the goofy looking for a few days, then pay someone to do the job I can do myself.
And plus I was in the car wash. It was nice and warm. And I don't have a garage LOL!

You can't even tell its the spare, and it is NOT THE SAME as a tire shop plug. A tire shop plug is inside and outside patched (I.e. they remove the tire from the rim) and how is a spare goofy looking? My spare matches my other rims and tires I could roll all five next to each other and you wouldn't be able to tell me which one is from under the truck
