OP, glad to see you can handle yourself when things don't work out right!

You wouldn't happen to drive a 2010+ Mustang would you? I know those only come with a tire plug kit and no spare, so if I could fully understand if your first instinct was to go for that.

My 2013 caddy has the same I believe, so yes if that's the case I don't fault him, but I'm assuming he's driving a fiddy

Yeah he's in the fiddy but if it's new to him or anything it might just be habit to think he doesn't have a spare maybe?

I wasn't trying to start anything. I just couldn't figure out why someone would go through the trouble of removing the wheel and then not use the spare. Trucks don't come with donuts, you can't use a donut with 2000 pounds in the back. I use plugs regularly but I don't remove the wheel to install them. If the wheel has to come off the spare goes on.

I think that's why most people have a spare tire.

I don't want to drive around with a spare on. It would look completely out of place. The tire repair kit works excellently, and does just as good of job as the tire shop. Since I had the time, had the tire off, had all the supplies, why not fix it? Or I could drive around with the goofy looking for a few days, then pay someone to do the job I can do myself.

And plus I was in the car wash. It was nice and warm. And I don't have a garage LOL!

I have never plugged a tire by taking it off....

Normally just find the issue and cram the plug in. Cut off excess, air up and drive on.

You can't even tell its the spare, and it is NOT THE SAME as a tire shop plug. A tire shop plug is inside and outside patched (I.e. they remove the tire from the rim) and how is a spare goofy looking? My spare matches my other rims and tires I could roll all five next to each other and you wouldn't be able to tell me which one is from under the truck

Mines different cause i have a lariat with 20s, but it's the same overall size, just a black steel 18 inch rim and a Goodyear wrangler instead of my 20" pirellis.

Fair enough. But even if you were running it, I'd go oh hey they got a flat, I've had that happen. Not OMFG how freaking lame and stupid does that truck look! Haha idiot shouldn't have hit a nail!
