You can purchase the warranty they offer if you want to cover some items. I didn't.

Those are exactly the tunes I specified. How did that 87 Eco turn out for you? Did you loose any power do you think?

In my local area we generally only have 87, 89, and 93.

I've got the 87 econ, 87 perf/tow, 89 econ , 89 perf/tow, and a 93 econ.

The only ones I've tried are the 87 econ and perf/tow.

I tried the econ tune for a very short time back in June. At the end of the month I towed my enclosed car hauler to a track event (about 1260 miles round trip) and put in the perf/tow for that.

When I got back I continued to run the perf/tow for a couple weeks and really liked it.

A couple weeks ago I put the 87 econ back in for better mpg, but I don't think it's doing any better than the perf/tow.

I can tell the econ tune is oriented toward econ - it seems to have a bit of throttle lag when starting from a stop, and it's kinda slow to accelerate.

I don't think I'm getting any better mpg than with the perf/tow so I'm going to put that back in today.

When I run this tank of gas down I'm gonna refuel with 89 and try the 89 perf/tow for daily driving for a while.

I wish I could find some stations around here that don't have ethanol, but everywhere I've looked has a sticker on the pump that says it's got 10% ethanol in it.

Bottom line - I think I like the perf/tow tune better than the econ.

Yup. I have only done PerfTow since that is what is popular around here and I wanted to feel a major difference from stock. I sure did.

91/93 octane will vary by state, so just go with what is most available to your area.

Some good info guys, thanks. I'd most likely try the two 87 tunes first. With the Eco tune, I'd likely be fine, I'm pretty light on the throttle for the most part. Same with the 87, 89, and 93 around here. But IIRC, here in Michigan, unless there is more than 10% ethanol, it doesn't have to be posted. Chances are probably 100% that all our gas has that mix. We do have E85 available in some places, and I originally thought that a tune for that would make it somewhat of an option, as far as cheaper, and maintaining something like 87 performance. That would make it possibly worthwhile to burn that instead. I'm happy with using 87 and gaining a bit more mileage though, and the 87 tow/haul, may be just the tune I'd like, like you guys.

I was running 93 performance/tow then switched to 91 p/t but still had half a tank of 93, couldn't tell much of a difference, then I put in the 93 race tune and DAMN what a beast.

It's invigorating when it hits 2nd @ WOT and the tire barks.

Sounds like me with my olde 7.3 Stroker. I had a SC programmer on it, set to the 60hp setting. That thing would break them loose going into 2nd as well. Damn it, I miss that truck.
The sales hype says the SCTx4 comes with some canned tunes. Can you tell me what they are? I'm on the verge of ordering this thing, the go feature sounds like fun, although I'm actually looking at economy, well, most of the time, I think.LOL

Canned tunes are 87, 89, 93 I think, it's been a while since I've seen the screen, when you input custom tunes it disables the canned ones. What I do remember is they made a noticeable difference from stock but not near as much as the custom tunes.
