Default What would you do?

Well I just bought a 2001 F150 4x4 Screw about 2 months ago and I paid $8700 after trade. has 130xxx miles and My payment is $195/month. My mom owns a 2001 Expedition AWD/4WD with 4.6L that has about 115xxx miles. I've been considering going to college recently cuz I'm 21 and dont really haev a good job. but I won't be able to afford college with the truck payment cuz I wont be able to work fulltime. So my mom said she'd give me her expedition and take my truck and the loan over. her expedition needs somework (manifold, tires, possible balljoints/wheel bearings) so my question is, would you give up your truck for that? or would u wait 4 yrs till its paid off to goto school

I wouldn't let a vehicle get in the way of going to school. Since you're going to school to get a better job when you're done, you'll have the rest of your life to get another F150.

Ya dude. A truck is not worth putting off school for. There will be a lot more of them left once you're done.

I agree with what the others said BUT, are you paying for college right now or are you taking out a loan and then paying back the loans when you finish getting your degree? Because, unless you are "paying as you go" for college, taking out a loan(s) will allow you to contine to pay for and possibly pay off your truck before the year 2014/2015 even rolls around (assuming you are going for a 4yr degree), & then you'll end up with your degree, your paid for truck, and HOPEFULLY a new job with which to start paying off your college loans.

Not trying to tell you to be financially irresponsible, but just a thought...

Or join the military, keep the truck, get school paid for you and get paid to do it. Sure, it isn't the greatest place to spend your time, but my experience is that at least you're getting paid, while learning a trade that is better than flipping burgers. Just a thought.

Blaa blaa school this school that.....I'm not a "school type" person. Yet I make more money than most people with a degree. College is not a guarantee that you will be successful or find a good job. If you do decide to go do something worthwhile. Or you'll be broke and out of a job like most of the people I went to school with.(they did the college thing).

I'm not telling you what to do but I get sick of hearing about how you have to go to college to get a good job. Most people who say that couldn't think their way out of a wet paper sack.

I agree... I had to go get a degree to work in PT but my wife makes more than I do without a degree!! It really depends on the job you want, don't get a ton of school debt for a degree that won't get you anywhere!!

Also, what is wrong with working while going to school to make the payments?
