what would you do?

Check state lemon law first and abide by the rules. If it requires 4 visits for the same repair in 12K miles like in my state, that is what you do, regardless of which dealer you take it to, they screw it up, they screw it up. Once you have these 4 under your belt call Ford and request a buy back. This will get the ball rolling to either repair the truck correctly, or if can't be repaired, start the buy back process. This is the least cost or loss to you, you only pay for miles up to the first repair.
If you are already beyond the state LL, but still under warranty, then you can hire an attorney that specializes in this and start a buy back/replacement through the BBB. If beyond the warranty period, you can still sue for Breach of Warranty. Attorney fees are taken out of the settlement for both, you only pay court costs and inspection fees. Been through the latter process this year on a defective 2016.

I was told by ford directly that they will not do a buy back because I leased the truck, ford doesn't own the truck anymore I guess its ford credit that owns the truck and all they want is their money each month and they did not seem to care about my problems either. a lease is treated way different apparently than a financed truck.

The problem I am thinking is, would it be worth all the hassle of hiring a lawyer and fighting Ford for 8 more payments left.. the truth is I feel Ford has won, my hands feel tied to this truck.

That Ford dealership the way they treated you or Ford corporate probably won't give a sh^& but might be a feel good for you.

For 8 more payments i'd live with it, get on with your life and when the lease expires let Ford know in no uncertain terms why you're gonna lease or buy a RAM for your next truck.

just the fact I shouldn’t have to take my own door apart when I get a chance to find that irritating rattle. That’s about the only thing I can’t live with for 8 more months.. sucks to say but ford has me over a barrel and win out in the end. I hate losing but I’ve exhausted all the effort I can with them, (dealerships and Ford Motor Company).

The situation you're in sucks but it could be worse. You could actually own the vehicle. As much as it sucks your best bet is probably to just ride it out for the next 8 months and then be done with it.

Its hard to fight the urge to drive to a Chevy or Ram lot and say get me out and eat the loss. doesnt make financial sense but it would feel better to rid myself of the circumstances.

Machines are man made and will always have issues no matter WHO you buy them from.
Good luck in any matter.
