I have an 18 Lariat with the most expensive LED tail light with BLIS. I busted one and it was less the $300 from Tasca. EDIT. looks like they have gone up, but still less than $700. Takes about 10 minutes to change.
Fuel service is 100% ripoff
Battery test is 100% ripoff. If the system was malfunctioning it would throw a code.
BCM is possible, but what codes do you have?

No clue. I’m not letting them fix it. Going to pick it up in the morning and either trade it or get a second opinion.

Why on earth would you let one scumbag at a dealership motivate you to sell the truck?

This isn’t the only reason. I pay out the butt for this truck and it gives me nothing but trouble. I love it but ready to go a different route.

Good luck. I'm sure someone will be very happy buying an easily fixed truck at a deep discount.

That comment is as ignorant as it is presumptuous.

Face it, this is your truck so you know what's wrong with it. You're at the dealership because you don't know how to fix what's wrong with it. If you're like me you don't see anything on that estimate to suggest that mechanic knows either. IMO, this mechanic is guessing and he's willing to chase suspected issues at your expense. That list of "Needs Immediate Attention," costs is suspiciously disparate with no explanation of why. My first thought over this estimate is this dealership, like most now, is hurting for work and trying to recover some of that loss at your expense. The computer, news and paper has been full of examples of this going on. What was their explanation for this estimate? $306 to test the battery???? I'd just skip the test and buy a new battery or does that $306 include a new battery if your current battery fails the test? what are you getting for $306 if the battery fails the test but another expense. Nothing about your estimate IMO adds up. Hell, there's nothing on that estimate that identifies the estimate being for your truck. Maybe you've left that off? Maybe you have one of the mysterious 2020 F150 hybrids and that explains the battery work required???? How far is it to the next dealership?

I don’t know any details yet. They send me that in a text message so I immediately called them and told them to not fix a single thing on it. Going to talk to them in the morning.

Ok so I just talked to the dealership. Basically, one of my taillights has moisture in it that is causing a short which is causing the battery to drain and that's why the alarm and everything goes off. Also, there is a seat and sync module that is out, which isn't a big deal to me. Sometimes the sync disconnects on its own and sometimes my seat massager doesn't work. That $300 battery test comes with a battery so I guess thats not terrible. What should I do? I feel like I can get a taillight for a lot cheaper than $2,400
