Default What should I do?

Ford dealership said this is what is wrong with my truck. I’m not looking to spend that much money. What are my other options?

Not sure if tail light unit simply means a new tail light, but ebay that or go aftermarket if possible. Should be DIY install.

You can get a new battery at costco for $100-$120.

BCM - that seems like a dealer thing since it's computer related.

Fuel service - usually recommended due to mileage. I use a fuel additive every oil change and have never opted for the service

No wreck and it runs, but the alarm, flashers and lights will randomly turn on and the tailgate keeps opening on its own randomly. I was driving the other day and the truck just turned off going down the road

can the dealer give you any further explanation for why it’s not running consistently besides what parts they say it needs?

and why a battery test would cost more than a battery itself?

Holy crap that one hell of an estimate.
Might want to take your truck to an independent shop and see what they say.
Or pull the tail light assembly yourself and see whats going on there.

I honestly would have a hard time not cussing someone out who quoted me $300 to test my battery unless I’m missing something here. Any parts store does it for free.

They sent me that in a text message. I’m going up there in the morning. Truck only has 45k miles and it’s a 2018! Never buying ford again

if you don’t know too much about vehicles and common services, I suggest asking us on the forum what the dealership says before agreeing to any work done. I would be suspicious of their intentions right now.
