Default What is this part?

I just got my 2016 f-150 King Ranch out of the shop and when I got home I noticed this piece laying in the passenger floor board. Any idea what it is?

gear from the glove box dampner, came apart on my 2016, easy enough to put back together

take the dampner off the truck, just pops off IIRC, separate the 2 halves and then put the gear back in, only goes in one way

Thanks. When you say glove box are you actually meaning the glove box or that small cubby with usb, etc? The reason I ask is mine is laying in the cubby and the cubby will open / close manually but not as designed.
