HINT/TIP: You'll find posting in the
Late Model F150s > 2004 - 2008 Ford F150
section more helpful/appropriate than General F150 Discussion posts.

I'm almost positive it's a vent for the 4wd system.

FYI I reposted this here under the 2004 -2008 model. https://www.f150forum.com/f4/what-cable-315690/

On the other post I was told i was for 4WD vehicles too.

Based on that information I just assumed this was a default cord on all models, but is only used on 4wd vehicles.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

It's a vacuum line, not a cable and it looks like it has half a check valve on it, do you see anything near by that might look like the other mating surface?

That's the Vacuum feed line for 4WD's. It just has a plug in it so debris cannot get in it.

I couldn't find anything that matched.

My truck is 2WD. Why would it have a 4WD vacuum line?

Most of our trucks are assembled and wired the same way so there are not two diiferent wiring/vacuum systems for the assembly line. Cuts down on price. They just plug or tape off what is not being used .A whole lot cheaper in the mass production of vehicles.
