Weird problem
I walked outside and I hear my 2021 F-150 King Ranch making a weird thumping noise. It will not let me open the vehicle with either key fob. My back lights started flashing but not the front light. Can’t get in the truck. Anyone have a clue what’s going on??
Let us know though. There was a thread a few weeks ago with a person stating the truck battery died and their key didn't work either (we suspect operator error or a bad/wrong key). A thread from yesterday suggests the FOB suddenly quit working and was able to unlock with a key. However that person stated that later the FOB worked fine.
The only sounds I can think of while approaching is the fuel pump kicking in based on proximity.
Whatever the thumping sound is may have drained the battery, however then the thumping would probably be gone too. Doesn't take much juice to get door lock to function though.
Do your best to record the problems -may help the dealership troubleshoot if it comes to that.
You should have received a key with your vehicle. If you did not, or cannot find it, pop open the FOB -there is a key in there that should unlock.

If you have a battery charger, may be wise to connect it and get a full charge to rule out any issues.
Ford's battery management system is interesting to say the least. Without sufficient long term drives, the battery has a difficult time achieving/holding a full charge.

I get the impression of somebody standing 50 feet away listening to the odd thumping noise. Have you been closer to try to figure out where the noise is coming from? How about an animal stuck inside or underneath or under the hood that has damaged something?
If you meant to post a recording it didn't happen. There is no recording.
p.s. I have had two occasions on a different vehicle where a switch caused damage because it was trying to cause a component to move that couldn't move. One was a frozen windshield wiper and the other was a frozen window, where the window had a "full open" mode where you pressed it once and it opened the window all the way. Your problem sounds little bit like something trying to complete its mission. Maybe a stuck door lock. Something that was supposed to happen automatically when you shut the truck off.

Hey there! I can look into your F-150's concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info?
Might be a known problem with that year and model if the FoMoCo account is responding. I haven't seen where anybody actually had a problem solved or even actually addressed by the person/bot. Not clear if there's a real person behind it, might just be collecting information and never responding. Still interesting though. Good luck.
