Default Wax Suggestions

Hey guys. Was wondering what wax everyone is using and how long it lasts. I know in NY we've had a rough winter so far but about a month ago I used Meguires NXT 2.0 and it didn't last long. Did it again today and it looks awesome but wished it lasted longer. As a kid I use to use Gliptone and loved it. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore. Thanks in advance

For black vehicles, the Turtle Wax, Black Box kit works miracles. Fills in all the little rock chips, and minor scratches. Enjoy it!

Check out Chemical Guys, and Autogeek for lots of options. Totally depends on what you are going for as well. Collinite 845 is a great wax if you are looking for longevity. If you want max shine + protection but are willing to re-apply a few times during the summer the above mentioned websites will give you days of reading.

My truck is red, i will probably paint correct with chemical guys compounds and pads, and during the summer use their carnuba's with a top coat of something like blacklight. As we move into winter I will strip all of that off and go with something like Collinite because it will hold up to the hard winter.

Collinite 845...I waxed it for the first time in September, 2014, it still beads up like crazy.

Carnauba waxes will only last 6-8 weeks. A paint sealant like the 845 will last much longer. I've used Klasse High Gloss Sealant and it will last a year, depending upon weather and frequency of washing.

As Silver said above, check out autogeek.net - tons of options and suggestions.

Collinate 845 works pretty well, it applies a little differently though. Apply it more thinly than you would with regular wax, also helps if the vehicle or wax is a little on the warmer side from my experience. Also Consumer Reports rated Nu Finish as they top rated "longevity" wax, Collinate wasn't in the survey. I've used both and they do a great job holding up to the elements. My last application was with Nu Finish back in Early October and from the rain today we had it still beads up fairly well.
