Bring 'em back! I love mine and everytime I get in a newer vehicle or anything without them, it's amazing how much air doesn't circulate through the truck with the windows down. I sweat and feel like A/C is needed in my parents/friends cars/trucks, but get in mine, open the vent window and it's perfect!

They are antiquated and lame.
Must be a reason they don't have them anymore.

From a manufacturing standpoint, it's much cheaper to design a door without them. It's not likely you will ever see them again. I have not had them in a car since my 1970 Chevrolet Impala that I had when I was 19. I guess they were not removed from trucks until a good bit later.

They were convenient for smoker's though, does anybody really smoke cigarettes anymore ?

That style window is a design fad that I'm glad Ford moved away from.

I'd like to see them come back but I won't be holding my breath.

It was a lot less expensive to replace a vent window then a regular window if someone broke into your truck. I had them on my 89 Ranger. I always liked them, and wouldn't mind seeing them as a possible option. My parents always called them wing ways. Have no idea why.

On the plus side: They were great for moving air when you opened them all the way. They were also good for smokers as a place to suck smoke away from others and as an ashtray. On the minus side: They gave thieves an easy way to break in a truck (this was before rear sliders took that distinction away). Whoever said it was easier to replace a wing window never did a Ford. Finally, the wing window was made obsolete when AC became a standard. I can live without them, but I still like the option of choosing.

manufacturers made vent windows because they couldn't trust the technology, at the time, of air conditioning.. now that they got it figured out, no need for additional parts and expense..

I smoke cigarettes among others things, but i used to have them in my 73' Ford and i loved them, now when i smoke in my 2011 i always get ash marks on the window seal i hate it, always cleaning it off. Forsure bring it back as an option.
