Use protection ?
Hey every body, im thinking about putting some of that rollon or / spray in bed liner in my truck to keep the bed protcted but i have no experiance with the stuff and am unsure what to use
also my truck has no rust but the bed is starting to take on that pre rust type color, as the truck is currently primor grey its easy to see, so if i role that stuff over it will it be ok?

I just did Herculiner a few weeks ago. It took me 3 days...
First day I had to drill out the ratchet hooks to get the bed liner out, quit early.
next day I sanded.. and sanded... and sanded... finally figured out that gritty paper by hand was the easiest way to do it (Easier than air DA,) probably because of all the nooks and crannies.
Next day I sanded more, acetone'd it, and painted.
It wasn't hard, and you don't need a degree to do it, but damn it takes some time. My shins were all bruised from being on my knees on the metal bed for days.
Next time I'll pay the extortionists at Line-X their $650. I'll be an old man by then, and I can justify it.
EDIT:
Also, be sure to get some kind of UV protective spray to put over the bed liner. Bucko suggested that to me, but I forgot about it. I don't know that's why, but the sides of my bed are still nice and shiny, but the floor looks matte now, after about two weeks. I'm gonna find some UV protective spray, hopefully they make a gloss one.

so u think it wouldnt be a good idea to just paint it over the primer grey without sanding huh, sry if thats a dumb question. just dont feel like sanding in the bed of a truck its hot as hell here rite now...lol
Should stick, but this stuff has a habit of not sticking if you don't take the time to prep it right. Never rolled on a thing of rustoleum but I'm about to go get a can of it so I can use a spray gun and spray it on my headache rack. From what I hear, the Hurculiner and Duplicolor are the most agressive. I've Hurculinered a S10 bed, Samurai tub, and a Cherokee tub. If you decide to battle the heat and prep it (I'm not quite sure what you call hot weather) don't use the scuff pads, use sandpaper. It will turn out much better and last way longer.

If your worried about the heat you could always do what I do here in Texas. Do a little bit during the day. Then go back out after midnight and work until 3. Still like 80 degrees here then but it beats the 104 85% humidity.
